Process & Fees

The laboratory accreditation process involves the following 4 steps:
  • Step 1:  Submit a request for application along with $75. You will receive an email prompting you to log in and complete the customized online application.
  • Step 2: Submit the completed application with supporting materials and pay the appropriate fee. The applicant laboratory will receive an email confirmation that the application was received.
  • Step 3: The AANEM Accreditation Committee will review the application and submit its recommendation to the AANEM Board of Directors as to whether the laboratory should be granted accreditation or provisional accreditation or denied accreditation.  The AANEM Board of Directors has final approval of all accreditation applications.
  • Step 4: The applicant laboratory will receive a letter notifying it of its accreditation status.  Applicants granted accreditation will enter a 5-year cycle for reaccreditation.  Laboratories granted provisional accreditation will have 6-12 months to resolve any concerns identified by the Accreditation Committee.  Applicants denied accreditation may reapply again in 1 year.
